Cotton swabs are single-use personal care items only used for a few minutes and then disposed of immediately. Commonly used plastic-stemmed cotton buds take extremely long years to decompose because they are made with plastics and other non-biodegradable materials. These can also end up in the sea which causes harm to undiscerning animals that consume them. Researchers have found fragments and even whole sticks of cotton buds in seabirds and turtles. Like any other plastics, once ingested the fragments may remain trapped in the digestive tract or cause internal damage.

Our bamboo cotton buds, on the other hand, are biodegradable and compostable. These are made with organic cotton and bamboo which are natural materials that decompose easily, and for that reason, they pose little or no threat to the surroundings and are environmentally friendly.
